Ahead of R U OK day, Mental Health Week and Safe Work Month, we invite you to come and hear this compelling message that should be shared at your workplace.
Mental health is without doubt the number one epidemic in this country, and it’s spiralling out of control at an alarming rate. Australia now ranks second to Iceland, in prescribing the most anti-depressants in the world. Yet, most people view Australia as the land of opportunity and happiness.
How can this be?
What have we got so horribly wrong?
What are we prepared to do about it?
The WAKE UP Call, presented by Advanced Care Paramedic and Councillor Paul Spinks, is an upfront and very personal session that will cover a range of mental health issues, and feature real life stories from his work at the front line.
Start a conversation about mental health today and register for this event. Paul's session is life changing, you will be compelled to share it in the workplace, with family or schools.
Everyone needs to hear Paul's Message The WAKE UP Call. We hope you can join us.
Registration is now open, seats are limited: click here for more information or to register.
About Paul Spinks
Paramedic and trauma Councillor Paul Spinks, has a clear message “are we micro-managing ourselves sick, or are we micro-managing ourselves well”? One in two of us are now depressed, and between the ages of 15 and 44 suicide is the leading cause of death in this country. Where war-torn and poverty ridden countries are desperately trying to stay alive, we are making choices to end ours; or medicating ourselves just to front the day. Read more about Paul Spinks
Isn't it time we are all engaged at a different level?
You will be shocked to learn how cracks form in your mental and physical health, and why it’s a reasonable theory that we must try new approaches to address staff performance and our behaviours at home. Placing 'surface level' concepts on how to better behave and perform, may only lead to reduced outcomes. Attend this session and hear why we need to look at mental health from a different perspective.
